Memory a day, spirit

One person’s sunset is another’s person’s sunrise

My big, hairy, audacious spiritual goal?

To die being at peace with who i am and content with what i have.

Memories are the oxygen for self-reflection and self-acceptance.

Is it possible to have too much of a good thing?

Time will tell.

i strive to watch every sunrise and sunset.

While not perfect, my batting average is excellent.

Here’s the thing with “how much is enough?”…

There are too many individual sunrises and sunsets to have specific memories of each one.

And here’s the insight on why this voluminous effort isn’t overdone nor hypocritical…

It’s not the hundreds of annual (out of 730 annually possible) moments. It’s doing one thing to make each morning, and evening, reflective and appreciative.

A simple, intentional habit.

It’s literally just one habit done twice a day over a lifetime.

Making two special times of each day special, sacred, important.

That’s the memory.

Spring break, spirit

To be blessed beyond measure is a side-effect from chasing peace and contentment.

Death from old-age isn’t a penalty, it’s an opportunity.

An opportunity to get busy living.

Note: Blessed beyond measure is a blog category. Using it for this post.

Be prepared, spirit

Being prepared is challenging.

Why?

Life.

Today’s posts are themed, as typical: mind, body, spirit, work, and home.

Be prepared to harvest, daily, and for a lifetime, the prayers, forgiveness, surrender, and love you sow.

Sittin on the dock at the…

79-second video: Planning for death is not a morbid task.

There may be more than two types of death, but the only two that come to mind for me are :

  1. Sudden, unexpected.
  2. Expected.

You can plan intentionally for both.

Historically humans rarely plan for the first.

Also historically, some humans plan for the expected death: will, power of attorney, advanced directive, etc.

This expected-death scenario omits a human’s option to intentionally exit before they become mentally or physically capacitated.

Our spirit is a key driver in creating our ’emotional environment”.

God is a word i use as a net to catch all ‘religions’, including no religion. Every human has the capacity to choose what ‘grounds them’ emotionally. Many call their choice, “God”.

Didn’t cover all eight in today’s photos but came close.

The bolded top statement. Everyone at Advent Health can recite this at will.

Advent Health is the only non-Disney organization i’ve experienced where every employee knows their common purpose.

Note: My experience comes from getting to know some 2,000 various organizations, to varying degrees of depth, since 1999 when i started teaching at Disney Institute.
