Leaning into discomfort

The antithesis of Sanibel Island is pictured here on the Mt Reynolds (9,156’) Summer climb.

Leaning into discomfort, being with Family, being on Sanibel Island, and all three of these at Christmas is a unique and special gift.

Rock on, my friend.

Do you see everything as a fleeting gift?

Hope and faith
Yesterday on the Music Choice Soundscapes channel. My reflection was intentional.

Do you see everything as a fleeting gift?

The persistence of vision.

Seeing the future and never waiving from forward progress.

The redemptive power of persistence.

Find meaning.

Learn endurance first.

Everything we have is a gift.

Insert human forgetfulness.

In America, we (stereotypically) think everything is an entitlement.

Paved roads, electricity, public education, clean drinking water, etc, etc.

Our children, our grandchildren, our belongings, our health, etc, etc.

All of it could be taken away quickly, and suddenly, and what are we left with?

This is ours to figure out.

Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark. – George Iles

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Use your imagination and dream big

Two days before Christmas. Haven’t bought a single gift.

But have thought about a million gifts that can’t be wrapped.

All tucked, invisibly, under the tree.

Who needs more things?

The devil takes many forms.

Procrastination is one of the devil’s favorites.

Distraction is another and so is medication.

Shopping, conforming, tradition, excuses, regrets.

Two amazing Christmas gifts we can give ourselves are second chances and permission.

Think about it.
