As i sit and write, who’s busier?

Disney Speaker
From here, only a 7.5-mile walk to the “hotel”.

As i sit and write, who’s busier?

The small rugged room is filling with people who are chatting with other hikers, yet they themselves are hurrying along – they spend less than 24 hours in this most beautiful setting.

Why?

Because they are busy getting on to the next stop.

All of them.

One night and then dust in the wind.

Then there’s the guy with his laptop, intentionally distancing himself the others, shunning the small talk.

Why?

He has work to do.

We can bet a few may feel sorry for the person who can’t get away from his laptop. (i’d be tempted to think that if the roles were reversed)

And i smile and remind myself (to shed any temptation for personal guilt) i’m at work.

The purpose here in Glacier National Park isn’t to escape, it’s to work.

How glorious is that?

The conversing i get to do happens later in the day when today’s work is done.

Here’s how to test if you’re judgemental or not

inconsiderate car parking
Do unto others? Do not judge.

Do unto others?

Do not judge.

As we were leaving last night’s College Admissions presentation at the High School, we spotted this.

First thought is, “What a jerk the car on the left is.”

Right?

That would be judging. No?

So don’t fall prey to weakness.

Here’s how to test if you’re judgemental or not.

Ask, “What if the car on the right parked after the left car parked and made a conscious choice to exit out the passenger side?”

As one of the first arrivals to the 7pm meeting, we saw a few parents and students arrive after the session started.

The pressures and choices of daily living can be stressful and influence our decisions.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to never cross the line

Disney Speakers
Walt Elias Disney was not a model of physical health.

Until we walk a mile in another person’s shoes, we have no idea what they are going through.

Each night as i floss my teeth, i am reminded that we are a product of our priorities.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to never cross the line in using my observations of others to help me shape my priorities.

There are things like disease and accidents that no matter what you do, you may have to fight battles you never imagined.

Not going to “sugar-coat” this. Flossing teeth is tedious, time consuming, and boring.

And so it goes.
