Another anniversary looms on April Fools Day

impossible goals
it was goofy to think the daily blogging and the daily praying would last past 100 days

Another anniversary looms on April Fools Day. Sure, the five-a-day blogging, blah, blah, blah, right?

In 2009, the same day the blogging started, I also began a daily habit of starting each day on my knees in prayer, reciting what I consider to be the three most important prayers for peace, joy, and love.

The point? Are we changing as much as we wish, and gossip, others would?

Dear Son, delivering Food for Families for the 13th Thanksgiving Day in a row this morning. Yes, you’re 12, which means we started the tradition when you were three months old.

As you’ve grown, it seems this year may be the first day you look at this process with the realization that giving is receiving.

Humbled at the blessings that pile up, but not until yesterday’s lunch

blessed Americans
it’s insane how blessed we are to be Americans

Dear Son, humbled at the blessings that pile up, but didn’t have it smack me in the face until yesterday’s lunch. The husband, and father of two teens, has worked off and on only 1/3 of the past three years.

Currently working part time, he’s likely to be unemployed soon. The fear of another recession eats at his psyche. In some ways, he’s a prisoner. Have been praying ceaselessly for him.

Looking back four years to pay it forward today

miracles?
from the iPhone 3 to the iPhone 5 – in the time it took to write 7k+ blog posts

Are you conscious of the time passing? Most of us aren’t? Maybe parents are as their children learn to walk, begin school, etc.

But generally, we age slowly, steadily. But rarely do we age with intent. Four years ago in 2009, only mustered three posts in March. There was no five-a-day blogging.

Today is the 1,430th day in a row blog posting five-a-day. For real.

The real reason for the change didn’t come out until later

leadership duties
leadership has an obligation for simple, key, repeatable messages

The real reason for the change didn’t come out until later – there are far too many no shows. This came out about halfway through the 90-minute presentation.

And here I had thought it was to embrace technology to not get left behind in an antiquated world.

Insight: Say the most important thing over, and over, and over…

Note: No one is perfect. A HUGE thank you to Larry for 21 years of scheduling dedication. We’d be sunk without him.
