What is prayer if not a deep, real hope for a better future

should we cling as tightly to our health as a child does to a parent’s leg?

What is prayer if not a deep, real hope for a better future. The health metrics for America are disgusting dismal not good. Stress, pressure, uncertainty, negativity. All lead to short cuts spurred on by our insatiable need for comfort.

On top of that, because so many people are unhealthy, being unhealthy seems more acceptable. Doesn’t it? Sad though because what we accept by default becomes the new standard. I pray we don’t get used to default-mode.

Mid Life Celebration weekly update 7

In early December, friend and fellow Christian, parent, blogger, Natalie Cramer, invited her readers and friends to send a Christmas card to her twin Sons Adam and Erik.

To be different (always with purpose), I just sent them Happy New Year cards, figuring after the success of her Christmas plan, wouldn’t it be cool if we could extend the joy of incoming mail a few more days.

Is it a travesty when this happens and is it avoidable?

sheesh, this is embarrassing (but important) to say…

Is it a travesty when this happens and is it avoidable?

  • preaching how we should honor our Father
  • ignoring the gift of health that our Father has given us
  • the spiritual leader is grossly overweight
  • being singularly focused on the mystery of Faith
  • what about the Faith that maintaining our health metrics honors our creator?

While this may sound hurtful, it’s meant to ask a really important question, “Where do we look for balance in the real world?”

Yesterday, just one day after Christmas, I’m missing the 24/7 Christmas music. Only one logical explanation. We come to know the true meaning of Christmas when we learn to celebrate it every single day.

“This might work”.

Of course, to get to today’s career thought, I’m heading over to the Next Blog
