It is a (short-term) requirement to earn citizenship, however, every citizen who grew up in American knows The Pledge of Allegiance. Pretty sure we have neighbors who are clueless. Doesn’t make them bad human beings. But it does make them ignorant to some of USA’s childhood basics. Freedom isn’t free. It just seems that way to people who haven’t lost friends or loved ones protecting it.
