Doing it again

Behind the Church again. It is completely dark yet somehow the new iPhone’s camera has a low light feature that stunningly makes this photo look like dawn – it’s pitch black in reality.

Doing it again, but with a slight creative change.

Two days ago all five blog posts were written on an iPhone while walking to and from the gym.

Today, only this website is being written while walking. All five blog posts today are using photos from today’s walk, taken and added as i walk.

The significant, yet easily overlooked, insight is the glimpse into how i am slowly experimenting with an entirely different way to blog. Much of our progress is imperceptible, until one day, bam, a breakthrough.

Be flexible and nimble

Disney Innovation Keynote Speakers
Today’s posts are not overtly Disney Keynote speaking related.

Be flexible and nimble.

The GoDaddy hosting account migration photos i took yesterday aren’t loading onto this post.

Why?

No idea.

Solution?

Tried a plan-B but that plan didn’t work either, so that’s why you see the photo above.

Ultimately, it still themes to yesterday’s efforts.

There is no automatic upgrade from my original (now old, Legacy) GoDaddy account to the latest and greatest hosting features.

A time-consuming manual process is required for each (16 total) individual domain name.

Thank goodness for Rob at Webidextrous.

First Sunday of Lent is hidden?

Hidden Mickey by jeff noel
Hidden Mickey at Virginia Falls in Glacier National Park. The purpose of Lent is often hidden too.

Yesterday was the first Sunday of Lent. Lent is really designed to give every Christian 40 days to prepare for the magnificence of the Holy Resurrection.

Does anyone know why “giving something up” for Lent became a thing?

Guessing the discomfort of abstaining from a comfortable habit is a sufficient trigger to remind yourself it is the Lenten season. Or maybe it has to do with Jesus not eating for 40 days – the suffering. Maybe it’s the discomfort suffering.

Read so they want to watch

Walt Disney World Main Street at Halloween
Kinda scary to think you should be able to convey the passion of iconic Biblical figures.

Most people are conditioned to follow along in the missal while the Lector reads.

Why?

Shouldn’t the focus be on Saint Paul or Jeremiah?

Shouldn’t the reader be speaking in a way the requires no textbook?

Why not just ask everyone to (silently) read the scripture to themselves?

Try to imagine the time, place, audience, and context in which the original person said those things.

Hypertext Preprocessor

GoDaddy PHP upgrade
So grateful to have Rob assisting me this morning.
PHP upgrade
After 10 years in WordPress i’m just learning how important your PHP version is, and how long i’ve been out of date.

Hypertext Preprocessor, also know as PHP.

PHP is an HTML-embedded Web scripting language. i don’t know what that means, but Rob, my new technology partner does.

i’m praying that our morning is exceptionally productive.

Two big goals this morning by noon:

  • Upgrade to the highest level PHP possible in my GoDaddy Legacy account. Current PHP is 5.4 and it looks like the Legacy (an old and soon to be obsolete) platform only allows up to 5.6. As of today, the current PHP version is 7.6.2.
  • Do full backup of all blog databases.
