Tree shadow in front yard
Tree shadow 100 meters away from HQ desk. Late yesterday.

When you notice things you normally never notice, you start noticing more.

Things we notice are stereotypically categorized as physical objects.

Insight: notice thoughts, feelings, ideas, and behaviors that you never noticed before.

Practice being present, mindful, and motivated.

Think, watch, listen, feel, and observe in places you rarely or never do.

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

Jesus said, everyone but them

social media quote about love
Thank you social media for putting John’s quote in view.

Picture Jesus (or your religion’s supreme representative) talking to a picnic table full of middle school students at a town park.

Jesus talks passionately about how Love is the greatest of these: Faith, Hope and Love.

Jesus concludes his middle school lesson with a caveat to which He says, “You should love every human being….except for those people over there.”

“Over there” at another picnic table are two couples: one lesbian couple and one gay couple.

You can’t picture Jesus saying this to anyone, right?

We should never float that script around in our heads and hearts either.

Religious tradition and dogma should never paint Jesus (or your religion’s supreme representative) as homophobic or sexist (etc).

This is an X-ray view of what swims around in jeff-land. So grateful this post’s photo says the same thing this post says but in a different, complimentary way.

How about a team photo from the rear?

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

Repetition is the mother of all learning.

There is no try, only do.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda ruin many a grateful and joyful life.

Funeral attendee quota

Disney monorail
Crowds are great if you are an accountant.

Many people judge funerals by the number of people that attend. These same people believe a bunch of people will then say nice things about the deceased person so that everybody can know what a great person the deceased was while on this planet.

This came to me now while biking past a cemetery. Just stopped to dictate this blog post. And it dawns on me it would be better for a person to have a great life and everyone important to that person knows exactly where they stand.

Essentially, the attendees wouldn’t need to hear a bunch of other people’s stories.

The attendees didn’t need a funeral to have other people share the deceased person’s story.

The attendees have their own library of wonderful memories.
