Yesterday’s post spoke of missing Cheryl as the highlight of the recent Oregon trip.
Why?
Because 26 years ago, we spent 17 days in the Pacific Northwest, cycling through Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, Canada and the North Cascade Mountains of Washington state.
There is something magical about being in wide, open spaces with the one you love.
And something about going back alone, to remind you of the early years.

That was just the beginning….the adventure continues! What a cool idea for a honeymoon. Don’t know many people that brave.
Brave? Not sure bravery was in the mix.
I looked into the future and thought about what we might regret.
This made the bike trip honeymoon a no-brainer. 🙂
I say brave because….Brian rode his bike to work in the summers here for a few years…until a car ran him off the road. He only had a broken tooth, some cuts and bruises, but it could’ve been a lot worse. The car never stopped. Glad you’ve had better experiences.
Ahhh, I see what you’re saying now. Yes, it was incredibly brave if you consider the drivers out there.
We biked in an era that didn’t have cell phones and texting. AKA, the good old days.
