Why Does God?

Dad, why does God let bad things happen to good people?

Internet's only five-a-day blogger, leaving a trail for our son. This is about putting the spirit of Love at the center of your life. It may be God, Allah, Mohammed, Buddha, Yahweh, etc. For me, it's Jesus.

I have a very simplistic view of God which is stated in the mantra: God is good all the time. All the time, God is good. So I don’t think God has anything to do with bad things happening to people (good or bad — for who are we to judge). As in tragic times, as shown in your images, I believe God welcomes home our dearly departed and comforts those left behind.

God is the ultimate parent. Through His Son we have examples, teachings and laws to live by. Even so He allows us free will to run our lives as we wish, and when we fall, or are in pain, He is there to bandage our wounds. No questions asked.

Now that is love.

God will never abandon us. Never. Period. End of story.

Humans call them ‘bad things’ because they are painful.

Pain is part of life. Pain is a gift from God to help us live better lives.
