What’s your favorite Christmas or Holiday song?

What’s your favorite Christmas or Holiday song?

Being inspired should never be a random moment.

Dad was a professional drummer. Growing up His son was always referred to as ‘Jack’s boy’.

Grammy-in-law’s favorite song was Little Drummer Boy.

Amazing Pentatonix version of Little Drummer Boy, because it’s Mid Life Celebration’s favorite, and stumbled upon it after Thanksgiving dinner last night.

Simplicity, intentionality, focus, purpose.

Changes. You.

Jeff,

What a great version of The Little Drummer Boy. And I love the back story for why it means a lot to you.

I love Christmas music – play it often throughout the year as background music in my office. I was a tenor in junior high and high school in the school chorus, and Christmas was a big performance time, so I got into the habit of listening to it all year long in preparation. By the time I was a senior, my chorus director was letting me pick out the arrangements for our Christmas programs (I always went for a choral arrangement of Sandi Patti’s “Come Let Us Worship the King” – amazing 4-part harmony).

But one of the cassettes I listened to through high school and became my favorite was Nat King Cole’s Christmas album. On there was a song I really loved, and it became my favorite – “A Cradle in Bethlehem.” It took on a much larger meaning to me later in life as it became the bedtime song I would rock both my boys to sleep with when they were babies.

Bob, beautiful song you’ve shared. What a lovely song to sing your boys to sleep. Isn’t it interesting the story behind our stories.

Fun.

A journey.

One step at a time.
