No one builds a reputation on their intentions

Homemade stir fry
Yesterday morning i didn’t tell Cheryl i was making stir fry for dinner. Instead, i texted a photo at dinner time.

A person who is well has no need for a physician. Was reminded shortly after waking this morning that Jesus came to help the poor in spirit.

In a hard-to-explain way, i write to do the same thing.

Our son (15) began blogging again last night after a two-year hiatus. But first he deleted every post he wrote since 2008. i told him not to announce that “I’m blogging again, blah, blah, blah”.

Rather, i suggested that he write, and at some point in the future announce it.

Don’t tell us what you’re gonna do. Tell us what you’ve done.

No one builds a reputation on what they’re gonna do.

Wycliffe Associates Vision

Just So I'd Remember The Conversatio
Just So I'd Remember The Conversatio

How big is your vision? No seriously, how big?

We are so tempted to go through our daily motions, and never stretch ourselves in ways we are capable of, but are too afraid to try.

The people who overcome their fear, or at least who attempt to overcome their fear, are the ones who make significant progress in the big issues.

At Chick-fil-A several days ago, I met a foursome of retired Iowans, here in Orlando for the Winter. They work for Wycliffe Associates.

Wycliffe Associates wants to translate the Bible into every language known to man.

What if no one dreamt this big?

What if you don’t dream this big?

My big dream? To help raise enough money to find a cure for an incurable disease.

And yours?

Surrender. Self-Control. Service.

Surrender. Self-Control. Service.

Know how long it took to develop that tagline?

A few days. Not a bad investment.

I’m also open-minded to changing it, if it would be more effective.

Change. Proactive. Vision. Passion. Entrepreneur. Risk. Peace.

I love words, especially words that inspire me. Do you get inspired by a single word?

What about two words? Carpe diem!

Three? Surrender. Self-Control. Service.
