Lean into discomfort daily (and all day)

southwest plane issues
Without thinking about the location, i sat here.

Lean into discomfort daily (and all day).

Coming off a spectacular day of firsts and calculated risks at Universal Studios two days ago, i challenged myself to sit in a window seat.

Years ago, i gave up my go-to choice (window seat) in favor of an aisle seat.

Yesterday, i was intent on taking a trip down memory lane.

Being in the Southwest Airlines A-group, i was one of the first to board and had unlimited choices.

As we were about to take off, it hit me.

The pilot announced there were roughly 100 empty seats.

When the seat belt sign was turned off, i moved to the third row from the rear, aisle seat.

Long-term benefits are challenging to see in the routine moments

Betty White
Yesterday at the grocery store checkout lane. Take charge.

Sundays are go-to-Church mornings.

The commitment is to go every Sunday.

Like exercise, we have to find our reason for making our important choices a lifetime commitment.

The DNA of consistent attendance is to help us develop habits and rhythms that serve us long term.

Long-term benefits are challenging to see in the routine moments and choices of daily living.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a free lifetime Disney pass?

Disney Customer Service Speakers
Spending time at Disney using my lifetime annual pass. Pictured above: two Walt Disney Legacy Lifetime Achievement recipients. Such a random moment in time, 2014.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a free lifetime Disney pass?

Who wouldn’t enjoy riding a bicycle (or walking) to Disney’s Magic Kingdom?

Who wouldn’t enjoy a “retirement home” less than a mile from Walt Disney World?

Who wouldn’t enjoy having lunch at Disney University’s Stage Door Cafe whenever they wanted?

Is your day filled with passion for your purpose?

Consulting questions
These should have easy answers. Wrote them down yesterday after a client call.

Is your day filled with passion for your purpose?

Why?

Or…

Why not?

How do you do it?

Or…

What are you going to do about not being filled?

And…

Back to , “Why?”

(Is your day filled with passion for your purpose?)

When?

Table top orchids
Yesterday at Ritz Carlton. Loved the mashup of orchid and conifer.

When was the last time you began your day on your knees?

One answer, i think, passes the lifetime opportunity test., “First thing this morning.”

That answer is, “First thing this morning.”
