Can we see what you see?

All characters are different doors to the same house – the house called the finest in entertainment.

When we talk religions, we always talk about differences.

So?

This is divisive.

Same with political parties.

What if “religion conversations” focused entirely on our similarities?

Same with political conversations.

What if?

Generational DNA

Breakfast meeting notes written on the back of this paper wrapper for the napkin/silverware bundle.
So much power, so little space.

Generational DNA.

Met yesterday with a business owner, fellow High School parent, and an ambitious, insightful, and hopeful middle-aged man.

He developed and teaches entrepreneurial studies to high school students locally and nation-wide.

His conclusion is that teens are frightened, insecure, and literally paralyzed by their fear.

Further, he believes their ability to take in-person risks (not social media risks) is catastrophically (my word) low.

He theorized this phenomenon is the result of the first parental generation to raise digital natives.

Because this is a first-in-our-world’s-history, it will take a generation or two to correct any massively detrimental generational habits.

Two writers, speakers, podcasters, and hikers

Jody Maberry podcaster in Kuwait
Jody Maberry writing early yesterday morning as we awaited Room Service breakfast and prepared for a 9:45AM hotel departure.

Two writers, speakers, podcasters, and hikers we are. Jody and me.

Both of us a long way from home.

Both of us convinced the only thing different with this culture and ours is the geography.

The prevailing American image of the Middle East is not favorable. Once you spend a few days and mix in with the people, you realize it’s inaccurate.

What happens two people see the same thing, under different lens?

Vacant land near Disney World
No, we are not on Safari. Our cousin is taking a picture of her empty lot near Walt Disney World.

Florida field
Yesterday we found a path in an overgrown lot.

One family (who lives there) accepts that the weeds are eight feet tall because they never saw the growth because it was insidiously slow.

Another family sees the growth for the first time and is astounded at how out of control the weeds are.

Two people see the same thing, under different lenses.

It’s the same with religion.

Same with attitude.

Please, let’s not tell each other we are wrong

Soccer ball and soccer foot
There is no, one, right way to play soccer, but teamwork is essential.

Read a fascinating article in which atheists explained what being an atheist means to them. Read about a dozen atheist profiles (provided in the article). Most talked about being happy and finding purpose in a life that has none.

Was reminded that my belief (and hope) is that no belief system would tell another that they are wrong.
