Ignore the side effects

Long, uphill hikes are metaphors for life. So are stunning views and wonderful hiking partners.

Ignore the negative side effects of a super-busy pace?

Why?

There must be powerful reasons, right?

Powerful enough to ignore long-term outcomes?

(never)

How is that a long-term and vibrant emotional strategy?

It’s not.

You clearly understand this. Well done.

Regret is always possible to reverse. When your ability to forgive yourself, surrender to things you cannot control, and live with gratitude that you can both forgive and surrender, you are free to move forward.

The key to it all is having a willing heart that is open to personal transformation.

If you think forgiveness and surrender are hard to sustain over decades of living, imagine trying to cram for personal transformation after decades of neglect.

Slow and steady wins the race. The long way is the shortcut.

Please don't tell me

Harness your distractions

Humans are easily distracted. Photo: Tee-shirt design at Disney’s Emporium store on Main Street.

Harness your distractions.

What?

Know what they are and send them to your spam folder, then delete.

Repeat daily.

Additionally, know your superpowers and use them generously.

Gratitude, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, surrender, faith, hope, creativity, focus, discipline.

Unanswered Questions?

Victimized by your news feed?

Two days ago this was my office.

Victimized by your news feed?

Have you thought about it?

Is the notion ludicrous?

Does your news feed bring you joy?

Hope?

Faith?

Love?

Maybe it’s time for a change.

Be that change.

Changing your scenery can change things

Disney Keynote Speakers
Truth.

This post will sound like the antithesis of changing the scenery, but here’s how i counter that thinking – every morning, the first two hours are spent on a journey to thoughts i’ve never seen, or thoughts i haven’t seen in years.

Find creative ways to do the impossible – travel every day to someplace exciting.

Every morning after waking, i kiss my wife and son on the forehead as they sleep and then get down at the foot of the bed and say the same three prayers.

Every.

Morning.

Sometimes when i get down on bended knee, thoughts of the day’s to-do list creep in.

i catch this and start over.

Sometimes, i say the prayers real fast – too fast.

While i retired from Disney, i didn’t retire from working (making a good and decent contribution to society).

i hit the ground running each morning with two hours of writing, reading, praying, thinking – and finish this time block by 7am.

Stuff We Do

Search “Pages i like” to thin your Facebook feed

Facebook hacks
Social media overload is our own fault.

With the thinning of Facebook business Pages i “Like”, the noise i see after logging in is minimal, and only positive.

Remember when i unfriended 350 people a couple years ago?

The thinning of “friends” had nothing to do with our friendship validity and everything to do with my sanity to keep up.

i couldn’t keep up, so i stopped trying.

It’s been wonderful for my spirit.
