When you surrender

The Morning Show episode screen shot
Nov 12, 2021. Yesterday. No one cares. Except you. You have a choice to care about every day in any way you want to care about it.

When you surrender.

When you surrender to what you cannot control, you are like a caged bird set free.

Freedom leads to peace, and peace leads to contentment.

Emotionally free at last

Approximately 2004 or 2005. Sanibel Island. Carter, our second (of 3) Yellow Lab.

Emotionally free at last.

Never treat a single day as disposable income.

Do that and you are free from the fear of regret.

Freedom from regret frees you from anxiety and bestows you with peace.

Freedom from regret allows you to be content with what you have.

Peace with who you are and content with what you have.

Free at last.

Free with every breath, including the one you just took and the one coming next.

Prolific freedom

Prolific freedom…

Mental freedom, physical freedom, spiritual freedom, career freedom, and home administration freedom.

These are freedoms always wished for.

Freedoms seldom tasted.

But those crazy enough to believe and then do the daily reps….well, you know how this story ends.

Habits feel safe

Freedom: To want nothing. To expect nothing. To depend on nothing.

Habits feel safe.

Good habits alleviate, even eliminate, regret.

Peace thrives in a no-regret karma.

No anger.

None.

Why would we even consider it?

Peace.

Which is why you’ve learned to shun anger.

Once a year is better

No breeze at 6:30 AM yesterday.
On yesterday morning’s pre-sunrise walk, a moment to admire our neighbor’s front yard. John is a Marine and was a Gunner in Vietnam.
Later yesterday.
John is proud of his service to our Country. Old Glory fueled by a warm November breeze.

Veterans Day 2019 was yesterday.

One day a year to honor our Veterans seems disproportionate to the blanket of Freedom we sleep under every night.

Here is a way of realizing that honoring our Veterans once a year is better than not having an official day…and what you might do starting November 12, today…

We come to know the true meaning of Veterans Day when we learn to celebrate it every day.

Hate the war, love the warrior.
