Final 120 Days

World IBD Day 2019

Senior Banquet last night at the Rosen Center, next to the Orange County Convention Center.

The is no cure for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease are part of the auto-immune disease category.

The body attacks and destroys healthy tissue, mistaking it for unhealthy tissue.

Hard to imagine missing one of your awards because you had to visit the restroom, repeatedly. When IBD is at its worst, it relentlessly attacks healthy tissue. Digestive health is taken for granted by most of us.

Two incurable diseases don’t make a right

Casey's Corner at Walt Disney World
Finding cures for every incurable disease is a great fantasy.

In the process of searching for a new safety deposit box (our SunTrust branch is closing in May), i met a friendly Wells Fargo bank employee. She’s a 38-year employee and has seen her bank change hands a number of times.

After driving 4,000 miles in our Mercury Monarch in August 1984, the only Orlando bank that would cash our Washington State Employee Credit Union check and make funds immediately accessible for rent, deposits, and groceries was Coral Gables Bank.

Years later Coral Gables became First Union, which became Wachovia, which became Wells Fargo (now the Nation’s top bank).

As Tracy and i recounted the past 30+ years, we spoke about life in general.

She discovered i left Disney to make a lot of money to give to the people determined to cure IBD.

And i discovered her five-year old grand daughter (Gracie) has Retts syndrome.

There were other things discovered, and in the process, i had to fight back my tears.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

This website is about our spiritual health. To leave this site to read today’s post on jeff’s career health website, click here.

He’s My Son

Saturday’s post naming my top three favorite Christian artists, didn’t mention Mark Schultz. Why? It contained only the top three.

My good friend Craig reminded me of Mark Schultz – he’s number four. One song of his is particularly poignant, “He’s My Son“.

Here’s a 1 1/2 minute version capturing the essence. There were many, many nights, before our son’s disease was diagnosed that we felt fairly helpless. Not that we no longer do, but we at least know what we are dealing with.

jeff noel.org

jeff noel.org is different from jeff noel.com – But you already knew that right? If you didn’t, they are different.

jeff noel.org is about our spiritual being.

jeff noel.com is about the need for a small business entrepreneur to have an “office”, or “warehouse”, or “headquarters”, on the Internet.

If you are an aspiring business person, you’ll readily understand this. If you’re a casual reader, first of all, thank you for your interest. For a small time guy, trying to help others in a big time way, creativity and courage are two fundamental ingredients. Everyone understands that.

The Joy of Living

The Joy of Living is one of the most elusive of all endowments.

Why? Just watch a child and you’ll find your answer. Having a child (9-year old boy) in our home is a daily reminder.

We all, at least I do, need daily reminders of this simple fact, don’t we? Why? Because life is hard, especially in today’s challenging and uncertain world.

Every day is an opportunity to count our blessings. Anyone need a calculator?
