Facebook Can Nurture Our Spirit

Facebook can nurture our spirit. It can! Seriously. At least I think it can.

The other day there was dialogue on my wall about someone hearing a Contemporary Christian song and how the lyrics spoke to this person in a profound way.

That’s what Christian Music is all about. Helping us stay mindful of being blessed beyond measure, even when we are not “presently in the moment”. Being present in the moment takes practice. The payoff is HUGE!

Here are a few of my top three favorite Contemporary Christian Artists:

  • Chris Tomlin
  • Steven Curtis Chapman
  • Jeremy Camp

We keep all our radio dials set at 88.3, here in Central Florida. Make it a great day, and remember, you are blessed beyond measure. Seriously. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unfair Advantage, jeff noel

Unfair advantage goes to jeff noel and his nine-year old son.

What the? Huh?

Yes, unfair. Completely unfair.

Or maybe, just maybe, it’s an absolute and utter competitive advantage.

Depends on how you view the cup.

Frequently (way too frequently) our son has migratory joint pain. It lasts from a few hours to a few days. It infests his ankle, pinky finger, wrist, knee, elbow, palm, foot, shoulder, and sometimes his hip.

And, it picks one single location, not all simultaneously. Just one.

Whenever it impacts from the waist down, it will limit his mobility. Doesn’t stop him, just limits him.

Ever seen a three-legged dog?

Sometimes he’s a one-legged boy. Everyone at his school gets it. It’s Chapin. He’s special.

Outside of familiar surroundings, people think there’s something wrong – “Why don’t his parents take him to a doctor and get him checked, and fixed”?

Dude, you have no earthly idea how many doctors, treatments, tests, x-rays, needles, medicines he’s seen.

But my wife and I have.

And even so, we feel blessed beyond measure.

And, ironically, as I type this, Jeremy Camp’s “There Will Be A Day” is playing….. There will be a day, with no more tears, no more pain, no more fears. There will be a day, when the burdens of this place will be no more and we’ll see Jesus face to face…:

Cry Baby?

Cry Baby? I guess I am.

Driving this morning to Orlando International airport, listening to the “Z”, I cried three separate times.

Why? The music, especially the lyrics, really speak to me.

They reach a point in my spirit, my soul, that makes me feel so blessed to have everything I need.

In my weakness, I am made strong. It’s the same for everyone.

How do you get there? Many ways to be sure. My favorite is to listen to www.zradio.com

Wish there was an easy way to tell others how to get there, but there isn’t. For me, it’s been a helluva journey.

Been to hell and back. Twice. For real.

While I love Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Buffett, Three Doors Down, Pink Floyd, etc., I love Z88.3 so much more.

To live without my music would be impossible to do, ‘cuz in this would of troubles, my music pulls me through.

Blessed beyond measure

This past week, I’ve had a heightened sense of awareness of how lucky I feel, for a variety of reasons.

I will even go as far as to say I feel blessed beyond measure.

Why do I feel this way?

Because I carved out some time to reflect on a couple of serious challenges that I faced this week.

I hope you have a great weekend and that you find a little time for yourself.

If you do, you might also come to realize your fantastic blessings.

PS. Jeremy Camp has a CD entitled “Beyond Measure”. Here’s one of his songs, “There Will Be a Day“, from You Tube:

Songs like this remind me of the blessing a simple promise holds. Carpe diem, jeff noel ๐Ÿ™‚
