The unexpected joy from boring

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park – discovering high-mountain lakes is a joyful surprise. Always.

The unexpected joy from being boring.

What?

When you do not need fancy events, things, people or stimulants to get you excited, you have conquered common and pervasive temptation.

Being boring opens your world to get high on anything and everything around you.

We paused our Exploding Kittens game last night with the patio door open and got high on a Whipporwill serenade.

Gratitude is your leader

i love to travel to speak, but not a fan of being gone. Pictured here is my speaking “costume”. Travel light and be grateful you are alive and get to transform lives.

“Gratitude leads everything in my life,” Oniwar said in the documentary. “…As I tell my class, if everything in the world has gone bad, it’s an opportunity to be grateful that you’re still here to notice it.”

Rock bottom is a solid foundation on which you can begin rebuilding.

Know your get to dos

Creating a little Magic is a get-to do.
Doing unexpected things, like stripping the bed i slept in, brings me joy. Hiding the card and characters behind the linen pile was fun too.

Know your get to dos.

What?

What are the top three things in your life that when you do them, it never feels like work?

PS. Your three get to dos should also make a positive contribution to your world and the greater good.

What a child of can teach us

We use a decent amount of fresh-cut wildflowers in our home. No longer are dead wildflower blooms thrown in the trash. Now, they all get to continue their purpose by being released back into the wild.

What a child of can teach us is close to infinite.

Imagine the unbiased life outlook a child has, untouched by the burdens of self-care and personal responsibility.

If we could manage our adult responsibility and maintain an untarnished view of our world…what is possible may seem more possible.

Son, thank you for this gift – one of dozens in which you’ve changed my habits.
