Blessed Beyond Measure?

Are you living the dream yet wanting more?

Jody Maberry and jeff noel
What a privilege to visit Disney’s Magic Kingdom with Jody Maberry.

We are by Lee Cockerell’s Disney Window on Main Street.

From serious to not-serious in 0.06 seconds.

This was where we stood, in the shadow of greatness.

A 30-second walk further and we stopped to enjoy the locals dancing and singing.

A few minutes later, more singing and dancing by the locals. It was cool for Chapin to meet Jody at our house and tag along to Magic Kingdom.

Are you living the dream yet wanting more?

Here’s how it probably shakes out for most of us.

  1. We have everything we need but can’t see it.
  2. We have an inaccurate definition for “having it all”.

To help me process this as i neared my 50th birthday in 2009, i wrote a book that focuses on:

• rethinking

• reprioritizing

• recommitting

Journey On

Keep your light shining bright

Ponce Inlet lighthouse
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse last night.

Patio lights
Note to self…look for these patio lights…photo from Rick and Jacquelyn’s house last night.

Keep your light shining bright.

Last night i took these two photographs randomly.

And in the darkness of a new day (today, right now), they have become the common thread in this message:

Keep your light shining brightly.

It’s your responsibility to be an example and to let your light shine brightly so others can see the peace, joy, and love you get from Jesus.

Dear Son

Do you want peace and contentment in your life?

Disney sunrise
Yesterday morning during a walk in our neighborhood.

Disney world sunrise
Was walking on a Sunday morning with a Disney colleague. This photo was taken one minute after the one above. Doesn’t take long to miss the peak reds.

Do you want peace and contentment in your life?

You have to establish, maintain, and ultimately, keep improving systems and processes you control.

The long way is the short cut.

How Can You Tell?

Is it worth a 40-year wait?

Epcot icons
So many on-stage icons, but what about backstage?

If ever there was a temple at Disney, certainly Disney University (DU) would be a contender.

Met over lunch hour (neither one of us ate though) at DU.

He wanted to know when i discovered that life isn’t about the money.

Long story, short – it was a process that took about 41 years.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Live like you mean it

Write like you mean it

Disney business wisdom
Spent a lifetime under these conditions, thankfully. Photo taken with iPhone while reading Disney Institute’s blog.

Write like you mean it:

  • advisor
  • big picture
  • motivation
  • secret
  • so what
  • vibrancy
  • architecture
  • value
  • investment
  • bonus

Just a few of the topics that are used to intentionally thrive.

The other option is to use hope as a strategy, with little to no intentionality.

Writing like you mean it is a precursor to living like you mean it.
