Kiwanis Changing The World

Helpful Humans Are In Demand

We see it and hear it every day. The media bombards us with bad news. How do you counter this so it doesn’t overwhelm you and poison your attitude? There is an easy solution. Pay attention. Look around. Listen. Follow up.

Recently met someone with a passion for social media. Come to find out, she works for Kiwanis International. Here’s their Mission:

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.

And then I was walking by the statue in the photo here and thought about the Shiners – no cost, no catch.

So many people will wake up today and try to make the world a better place. Do you know exactly how they feel? What if you did?

Will You Find Time Today?

How Insightful Do We Need To Be?
How Insightful Do We Need To Be?

Will you find time, today, to give thanks, and count your blessings?

If not today, when?

Got up at 4AM (almost an hour ago) in order to carve out time to think and write.

It will be a productive, exciting and long day, just like yours.

Much of what happens today will be driven by the mission work I do as a transformational speaker.

License? You Have Your License?

Never Give The Same Speech Twice
Never Give The Same Speech Twice

Do you have your license?

Do you go outside with, or, without it?

At what age did you receive your license?

How much does it cost to renew your license?

Do you like the photo on your license?

Do you use your license all day, everyday?

What license?

Your license to do good.

You saw that one coming didn’t you?

Probably not.

Wycliffe Associates Vision

Just So I'd Remember The Conversatio
Just So I'd Remember The Conversatio

How big is your vision? No seriously, how big?

We are so tempted to go through our daily motions, and never stretch ourselves in ways we are capable of, but are too afraid to try.

The people who overcome their fear, or at least who attempt to overcome their fear, are the ones who make significant progress in the big issues.

At Chick-fil-A several days ago, I met a foursome of retired Iowans, here in Orlando for the Winter. They work for Wycliffe Associates.

Wycliffe Associates wants to translate the Bible into every language known to man.

What if no one dreamt this big?

What if you don’t dream this big?

My big dream? To help raise enough money to find a cure for an incurable disease.

And yours?

Not Sure I Can Do This

Cloudy Feelings?
Cloudy Feelings?

After re-reading yesterday’s post, I’m having second thoughts about whether to continue down this path.

Why?

Because it feels like it goes against being humble, and it feels very awkward.

What is driving me, compelling me, to want to share this, is so that you see that I have no special privilege or talent.

I just work really hard. Hard work is the only antidote to life’s challenges.

And even then, it’s not 100% guaranteed.

But one thing is guaranteed. If you don’t try, you will never know.
