How Can You Tell?

Some noticers often notice well after noticing

Palm Sunday
To willingly die for the salvation of others is overwhelming.

The Spring Equinox came and went without fanfare yesterday.

But Palm Sunday made Church noticeably fuller with seats “standing room only”.

Next Sunday we’ll be in Allentown and most likely will not go anywhere Easter day.

The Nursing Home will have an in-house service.

This will be a first for us.

Note: i was ready to try a different Church yesterday, but we decided on waiting for now. There’s a Church adjacent to our subdivision, and another just down the road.

Noticing is either a habit, OCD, or both

Black-eyed susans
Courtyard Marriott wall mural – our favorite flower.

Found it interesting that the first and last photos on yesterday’s camera roll were of flowers.

A recurring theme has me wondering how much hope people actually carry through their day.

The theme is margin (aka breathing room in a busy life).

PS. Since this is being posted on June 25, Happy 33rd Anniversary.

Life Transition (Dec 2014)

Notice. Everything?

sidewalk restaurant sign

(photo: sidewalk cafe sign on the way to lunch yesterday)

In between sessions at the Moda Center, we had lunch on Portland’s only floating restaurant.

In the midst of simply trying to find sustenance and some downtime (similar to halftime or intermission) we walked looking for a place to do both.

This sign would have been easy to overlook.

Like literally everything else in life.

Fall Is Finally Here

Fall. Back to school. Cooler temperatures. Colorful leaves. Pumpkins. Halloween. Sweaters. Swimming pools “closed for the season”.

Growing up in south-central Pennsylvania, these are the memories of Fall. An exciting time marked by dramatic changes from Summer.

Well, in central Florida, these changes from Summer to Fall are much less distinct. In fact, they are almost invisible.

Attempting to share some of our history and traditions with our son (9), a native Floridian, I had to find small ways to tell big stories.

So, the first night the temperature starts with a six instead of a seven, well, that’s when I officially declare Fall has arrived. We haven’t seen a day or night temperature below 70 since April, until today.

As we go through our busy lives, it’s these little things that make life more interesting, more “alive”, for me.

Do you have small ways to tell big stories? Want to share any here? Please feel free. But I’ll completely understand if you’re too busy.
