Watch what happens

The neighbor behind us has a pond. Pictured here is the camera looking through his yard to our backyard.
One half mile later, dramatic change that if you’re a few minutes late to take a look, you miss the brilliants reds and oranges.
Nearly two miles and 30 minutes from the first photos, the sun is about to pierce the horizon.

Watch what happens.

What?

Watch what happens to the sky the first 30 minutes or so of a brand new day.

What a luxury to be outside the first 30 daylight minutes of a gloriously young day.

Old as the sea, new as the morning.

Live like you mean it.

Where do wrinkles find joy?

Smiling faces on two of my favorite people.

Wrinkles only go where the smiles have been.

Wisdom only goes where the fear has been.

Joy only goes where the gratitude has been.

Peace only goes where the surrender has been.

Contentment only goes where the attachment has been.

How cool is it to love wrinkles versus seeing wrinkles as bad?

Four genres for self-reflection

Yesterday while sitting at home office desk. Swallow-Tail Kites (birds of prey) are rare.

There’s a book called Heart, Smarts, Guts and Luck. (This is not a recommendation, by the way…just wanted to give credit for the four topics)

Heart, Smarts, Guts, and Luck.

Or, as i am committed to self-reflection…

Mind • Body • Spirit • Money • HQ

Guts is another way to describe risk-taking and overcoming fear.

Luck is defined in my world as “over-focusing on the same things i used to under-focus on or ignore”.

Stay hungry

Lake McDonald Lodge dining room…we saw Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs there.

Lake McDonald Lodge dining room. All breakfasts and all but two dinners were experienced here. Fire for every breakfast and most dinners.

Lake McDonald Lodge dining room’s table #45. Our favorite for breakfast, to keep warm. For dinner, we preferred to sit in the middle of the dining room.

Stay hungry.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

When you feel stuck – and you will – don’t stay long.

Stay hungry.

Hunger helps you find a solution.

Ever think like this?

Disney author jeff noel
Writing last night at Magic Kingdom, Day 100. Moments later, the woman in green sat on the step behind me (where the camera sat to take this photo.)

Little did i know the self-timer would catch the 86-year old woman (in green) as i was chronicling Day 100 of an impossible one-year writing challenge.

We spoke for 15 minutes and several times i mentioned i must leave to make the short trip home for dinner with my Family.

Even mentioned having an annual pass to add context for why anyone would leave Magic Kingdom at 7pm on a Friday night.

Later last night, the realization that not once did she ask anything about me.

When we age, do we become self-centered? Do we become lonely?

This brief experience is an opportunity to question ourselves and look in the mirror. Are we more like, or unlike, her?

Does it even matter?
