We should be used to rejection by now

Disney Keynote Speakers
Great Disney Keynote speakers.

The rejection stung initially, and then it hit me – this was a chance opportunity from the beginning.

Random, rare, microscopic.

While i had better than decent odds than most longshots – the Speaker’s Bureau they hired gave them their two best speaker choices – because of word-of-mouth and my pedigree, but it wasn’t enough this time.

Never let your memories be bigger than your dreams.

Go.

PS. The beauty of this was it began and ended in 72 hours.

Now, i’m crystal clear on the opposite

quotes
Recent FB memory, from 4 years ago, populated my feed.

In the past, rejection used to define me.

Why?

Because i let it.

Because i thought that is how it’s supposed to work.

But solitude, self-reflection, teaching, writing, and focusing on being an example rather than a warning have allowed me to see, think, and do differently.

Now, i’m crystal clear on the opposite.

Rejection doesn’t define me, my reaction to rejection does.
