Sanibel stoop

The Sanibel stoop is a real thing, pictured above and captured last night.

The stoop is the traditional (and most natural) way to look for sea shells.

The stoop is not a substitute for exercise, yet it does exercise the body in unique ways.

Take what you can get.

Junonia

Junonia shells are rare. Scarcity creates value. Photo: Last night at Bailey’s grocery store, the first and oldest store on the island.

Junonia shells can be found on Sanibel Island.

They are so rare though that some shell collectors can search a lifetime without finding one.

Is there a Junonia analogy to life?

Perhaps balance is rare and a person can search for it an entire lifetime without finding it.

Be the smile

Smiling is good karma. Gratitude is good fuel for smiles.

Be the smile you wish to see in the world.

We get so self-conscious about being ourselves

We had never sat at the counter in all the years we’ve been visiting.

Let’s dare to be ourselves, for we do that better than anyone else can. – Shirley Briggs

We get so self-conscious about being ourselves.

Wasn’t going to ask the co-owner to place some Disney characters up on the shelf because it was a busy breakfast time and she was in the middle of the action.

But i overcame the fear of being myself.
