Is it that we expect too much and try too hard?

There is magic in surrender.

But letting go often feels like giving in.

Maybe with our spirit we’ve found the one perfect battle to let go of.

Probably different for each of us. Similar, but uniquely our own.

When should we give up? Is it okay to quit? How will others perceive us? How will we view ourselves?

We should give up, surrender, when we realize we’re up against something we can not control. This is difficult to discern. But once we have, quitting is easy. The blessing in giving up is that we are set free.

As you read this, on this day (Sunday), what comes to mind for you?

There are many possible directions and interpretations.

It reminds me, at first glance, the daily surrender necessary to overcome addiction.

One day at a time.

A small surrender to desire.

And sometimes in one day, there are many small surrenders.

And then tomorrow, begin again.

Repeat until death.
