Do you really want to take a vacation?

Do you really want to take a vacation away from what you love to do?

Few would say, “Yes”.

Yet…

Vacations are such a “must have” part of (in first-world countries) people’s lives.

You know, get-aways.

Get away from what?

Get away from what you love to do?

There’s a realization, for me, that many of us aren’t doing what we absolutely love.

This is why we need an escape.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a free lifetime Disney pass?

Disney Customer Service Speakers
Spending time at Disney using my lifetime annual pass. Pictured above: two Walt Disney Legacy Lifetime Achievement recipients. Such a random moment in time, 2014.

Who wouldn’t enjoy a free lifetime Disney pass?

Who wouldn’t enjoy riding a bicycle (or walking) to Disney’s Magic Kingdom?

Who wouldn’t enjoy a “retirement home” less than a mile from Walt Disney World?

Who wouldn’t enjoy having lunch at Disney University’s Stage Door Cafe whenever they wanted?

It doesn’t feel like Sunday

Disney Customer Service Keynote Speakers
Fresh off the eight-day Disney Cruise yesterday at 9am. Note the year? It was 2017 when i wrote this post.

It doesn’t feel like Sunday.

Christmas Eve.

Today.

Sunday.

We have one full day at home in the middle of a 16-day stretch away from home.

If we go to Mass today, it will not be our normal 8:45am.

Too busy to attend Church?

Florida Morning Glory wildflower
Morning. Glory. (on yesterday’s run)

Subway breakfast
After the run, a father/son bicycle trip for a Sunday Subway breakfast.

Too busy to attend Church?

Sometimes.

Praying it doesn’t become an easy habit to continue.

PS. The recipe for being at peace in a turbulent world is to make Church every step you take. Like helping your son exercise more.

Hope and faith just keep going, and going

Sanibel Beach sea shell close up photo
Midway through this past week’s vacation.

Vacation was different this time. Have never been to Sanibel Island as a retiree.

Hoping for many more ‘retiree vacations’.

Having faith that whatever God’s plan is, it will be His will, not mine.
